If, after installing Pocketstreetmap, you do not have the Blue S in the Task bar. Then you need to do the following on your Desktop computer.

Select Start

then Programs

then startup

then      Pocket Streetmap ( click to start the slave loader )

you should then see a   symbol on your task bar

*  Next Is the active Sync Green ?  ( This symbol can be found on the Task bar by your computers clock ). If this is grey   then  your Desktop is not connected to your Pocket PC. To activate your active sync, remove the Pocket PC from the cradle and re-insert it. The Grey wheel should disappear and the green wheel should start spinning.

Your Tool Bar should now look something like this

Common Questions / Problems

(also see our frequently asked questions page here)

The only thing I can see is Oxford Street !

Make sure everything is connected ie

  Internet Explorer connected to www.streetmap.co.uk

+   Pocket Streetmap Slave

+ * Green Active Sync

=  Maps

I have downloaded some maps but no images show !

Normally this is caused by having your cache being set too small. i.e. When the cache is exceeded the oldest files you have downloaded are overwritten. To increase the size of the cache you will need to click on Menu ----- Options in PocketStreetmap

Why can I not load the maps into an external Memory card ?

If you are using version prior to 1.08 then this is not possible. You will have to download the latest version and re-install Pocket Streetmap.

Version 1.08 allows you to store maps on an external Memory Card by selecting the button with three dots (...) on it on the Pocket Streetmap options screen. Then select "slot1" or "slot2" in the Location selection.

Can I download all of the Streetmaps onto my Pocket PC.

You can download a maximum of 20 Mb of data onto your Pocket Pc. This is a very large area.

Why do I have to be connected to the Internet ?

The Streetmap application, when first installed, does not hold any map data except for a few tiles of Oxford Street.Pocket Streetmap will download data from the internet when it requires it.

If all that you can see is Oxford Street then you have not registered the application properly. ie do you have you everything connected ?

  Internet Explorer connected to www.streetmap.co.uk

+   Pocket Streetmap Slave

+ * Green Active Sync

=  Maps
